When it comes to paintball guns you want something that’s cheap in terms of price but not in quality. Here’s a review of some of the cheapest ones with the quality that says a lot more about them.
JT, as you’ll see, has some really reasonably priced paintball guns to offer, with marksmanship that’s worth the more expensive ones available in the market. There are other brands as well, so you have wide choice.

This under $30 pistol uses .50 caliber paintball ammunition that fires accurately up to 50 feet (though total firing range is 100 feet), without the need for batteries or CO2. You can pack 7 rounds of ammo in the quick release magazine of this pistol, which comes complete with a reusable target and playing instructions to make your task easy.
- Durable paper target
- Has cleaning tool to clean the barrel
- Comes with safety button
- Stings a little when firing
- Mask needs to be bought separately
- Ammo capacity is inadequate
- Cocking attachment doesn’t stay on
This one’s quite accurate and shoots reasonably far for the price. Cocking is a bit too stiff for younger kids, but ideal for somewhat older children. With no CO2 needed to fire it, this gun serves the purpose, despite the few cons it has. This fun toy is quite easy to use and clean.

This JT paintball marker comes at a slightly higher price, but is still in the decently priced, affordable bracket. It really shoots well and is quite the perfect thing if you want something for your child to target practice. Easy to clean and maintain, this is a good gun for somewhat older children as the trigger has about a 5-7 lb pull to it.
- Ideal for target shooting
- Has great distance and accuracy
- CO2 jet is not rechargeable
- Keeps jamming up
- Balls tend to explode in the chamber
As long as you don’t expect fireworks from a gun that’s simply meant to fire a few rounds, this is quite a bargain. Not designed for serious battles, it’s useful as a target practice gun that keeps good distance and accuracy. Buying a new CO2 jar after every few rounds is a negative, but then, considering the overall price that’s not too burdensome, is it?

[easyazon_image align=”center” height=”242″ identifier=”B00V8QZPZ0″ locale=”US” src=”http://www.paintballgunsshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/31F7HcthqFL-1.jpg” tag=”HPD” width=”500″]
With anything under $100 considered cheap these days, this is quite an affordable paintball marker gun, especially for the new player. The Tippmann mark of quality is a guarantee of great design and excellent performance.
The design of this light and reliable gun is compact. The in-line bolt system is in metal, making this a solid toy. The blade trigger is made to pull smoothly and effortlessly, without straining the fingers.
- Has an internal gas line
- Ergonomic design with rigid front grip
- Solid, yet lightweight
- Ported barrel for improved performance
- Hopper needs to be purchased separately
- Does not fire long distance
It’s quite a remarkable gun, especially if used with compressed air. The rigid front grip ensures ease of operation. One thing is certain – you’ll not find your kid misfiring with this one; it’s quite flawless.
Given the Tippmann obsession with quality, this promises to last a long time. The choice of colors is an amazing advantage, as it means you’re sure to find a color to match your kid’s mood.

It’s solid and durable, though the manual cocking it needs before firing each shot does make it slightly tough to use. With a magazine capacity of 15 rounds and low velocity, it’s ideal for kids as it won’t (generally) hurt.
It doesn’t require batteries or CO2, as it’s a lever action reload, which means it will be cheaper on the wallet.
- Shoots 120+ feet
- Easy to use
- Solid and durable
- Low velocity make it a poor choice for competitive paintball
It’s actually quite a deal for the price it comes for. The paintball gun is tougher than you’d have expected at this cost. Your kid’s going to have a ball of a game with this solid little plaything.
These may be cheap guns, but they’re nevertheless a pleasure to use. You or your child are simply going to love battling it out there in the field with any of these.
You could of course pitch for the JT guns if you’re looking for target shooting. For more serious kind of stuff, go for the Tippmann quality, with its solidity and reliability.
The JT SplatMaster Z300 Sniper is a great choice if you want something the kids can use without the need for batteries or CO2, and with a vastly reduced chance of them getting bruises. Though the manual cocking needed before each shot makes it somewhat cumbersome, the SplatMaster Z300 is a good choice if you want something to play around with. I wouldn’t say it’s a good choice for serious paintball though, due to its low velocity.
